The right lender for your truck
A new highway tractor and a ten-year-old straight truck are not financed by the same companies. We present your file to the one that finances that type of truck, at that age, for a business like yours.
For a first call, the price of the truck is enough. For a used truck, its year and mileage speed up the analysis.

| Purchase | Lease | |
|---|---|---|
| Taxes paid at delivery | $37,438 | $0 |
| Taxes on each payment | None | 14.975% of the payment |
| At the end of the term | Owner | Buyout value |
A business registered for GST and QST recovers these taxes either way. Leasing only changes when you pay them.
Lease or term loan
With a loan, your business owns the truck from delivery. With a lease, it uses the truck during the term and acquires it at the end through a buyout value set at signing.
Sales taxes are then added to each payment instead of being paid at delivery.
New, used or bought from a private seller
Each lender has its own age and mileage criteria for a used truck. That is where comparing makes the difference.
A truck bought from a private seller or another business can be financed too: once financing is involved, the sale goes through a licensed dealer. We handle this accommodation sale and the RDPRM search.

Lease or loan: which should I choose?
With a lease, your business rents the equipment and can buy it at the end of the term through a buyout value. Payments are usually lower, and sales taxes are added to each payment. With a loan, you own the equipment from day one. The right choice depends on your tax situation and your goals: check it with your accountant.
Do you finance used equipment?
Yes. We finance used trucks, trailers and machinery, bought from a dealer or a private seller. Each lender has its own age and mileage criteria.
Can we finance a truck bought from a private seller?
Yes. Because financing is involved, the sale must go through a dealer holding a SAAQ licence, which is our role. We handle the accommodation sale, check the RDPRM and finance the buyer. See accommodation sales.
